Practical Tools, Built To Be Useful.
ScaleBySalman is a free website of practical online tools, created by Salman Haider. It currently offers one tool, the Final Grade Calculator, which works out the exam score you need to reach a target course grade.
Our Aim
Tools that are quick to use on any device and clear about their method, their assumptions and their limits. The first area is education and study, starting with grades and academic planning.
Our Approach
- The formula and assumptions are shown on the tool page
- Inputs are validated and results are checked against worked examples
- Free to use, with no sign-up
Built Around Clear Methods.
The standards below apply to the tool published today. They are described in full on the methodology page.
Documented Methods
The Final Grade Calculator shows its formula, a worked example and the meaning of each result.
Validated Inputs
Incomplete, malformed or impossible values produce a clear message instead of a misleading result.
Tested Results
The calculator has been checked against worked examples with known answers, including boundary and invalid-input cases.
Stated Assumptions
Where a result depends on an assumption, such as the grading scale or how the final is weighted, the tool says so.
